This is our health promotion in action.
Here we educate local women on health issues such as nutrition, sanitation, how to spot tuberculosis, home-remedies and when home-remedies won’t work and they need to see the doctor.
We are empowering women to help themselves and their community through education and training.
The TB clinic runs in parallel to the health promotion unit. If we feel that someone has TB we will pay for the chest x-ray and sputum test. If these are positive we are then able to get medication via the world health organisation for a nine month treatment program. We follow up with each patient until the course is finished.
The mobile camp last year cost us 3,722 euro to run, we saw and treated over 2300 children.
